As a system therapist, Iris focuses mainly on restoring relationships. The relationships between family members, partners, (divorced) parents, extended family members, foster parents, and children. Also, the relationship someone has with themselves. She conducts family, relationship, individual system, and parent conversations. She guides consultations and brainstorm sessions, trainings and workshops, and intervisions and supervisions.
She loves to help people gain new perspectives and ways of thinking and feeling. Her method is creative, she makes use of different techniques, both verbal and nonverbal. These are always directed at strengths, hope, and movement.
Her most beloved topics are metaphors and parallel processes. She is able to visualise stories immediately, images she subsequently uses to stimulate a change process. Because of her great experience with family and organisation set-ups, she can see very quickly which patterns play a role at multiple levels, and she is able to help people break these patterns where necessary.
Iris is a Double Healix trainer and coach in parenting-supportive trajectories, and participates in the Double Healix certification group. Furthermore, she works as a caregiver at Juvent Jeugd and Opvoedhulp Zeeland, and she is a teacher at NHL Hogeschool in Leeuwarden and the Viersprong Academy for GGZ trainings.
